Migraine relief & Fitgenes Testing
It’s finally summer…which, as a fan of the beach and warm weather, I am super excited about.
However I know that’s not the case for everyone. Especially if you are prone to migraines…and more so if they are migraines that are triggered by the heat.
While migraines have a complex aetiology – they could be caused by food sensitivities, nutrient deficiencies, lifestyle, stress and even trauma – today I wanted to share a natural treatment for migraines that has been well researched to offer symptomatic relief.
The treatment involves certain B vitamins. However, in order to establish the best form of these vitamins and exactly how much one would need to take, I highly recommend doing a genetic test such as Fitgenes (more about that shortly) to determine whether there is a genetic variation present in the MTHFR gene as certain variations mean a decreased ability to convert the vitamins into the active form that is best absorbed and will offer the relief from the migraine.
So – what exactly does this mean if you are prone to migraines and are looking for some relief? Using activated B vitamins could very well offer symptomatic relief – which, on a very hot day, could be exactly what you need.
However, if you’d like more than simply symptomatic relief, I highly recommend the Fitgenes Fast Track to Health program I’m now offering in my clinic.
The Fitgenes Fast Track to Health program is based on the science of nutrigenomics and how our genes are influenced by our nutrition, exercise and lifestyle. Scientific evidence tells us that our genes are not static, but in fact responsive to the choices we make, which impacts on how effectively they ‘express’ themselves. Gene expression is a way of explaining how we feel in terms of our wellbeing and how effectively our bodies function.
Based on a non-invasive saliva sample which is analysed and returned as a personalised genetic profile, I am able to take a holistic approach to addressing facets of your genetic profile that reveal what nutritional supplements will benefit you the most, the best choices of foods to consume and the type of exercise that will have a positive effect. This effectively eliminates any guesswork around what will work for you as the treatment plan is based on your own genetic profile.
I recently became an accredited fitgenes practitioner, meaning I can carry out the test in my clinic and within a few weeks I will have your results which will help personalise your treatment plan.
If you’d like to find out more, please reply to this e-mail or click here to book a free 10 minute consultation – I’ve got limited appointments left in clinic before I break over summer and since the results take a few weeks, I highly recommend doing the test now so that you can start January with a tailored health plan.
To good health always,
